Dr Dev Roychowdhury

Dr Dev Roychowdhury is a scholar, consultant, and interdisciplinary thought leader, with extensive experience across academia, industry, and the military. He holds a doctorate in psychology and is the Director and Chief Consultant at DR ACADEMY.

He has taught widely within higher education, delivering psychology units across multiple levels of study, and is particularly committed to mentoring and supervising graduate students and researchers. He has taught at The University of British Columbia, Monash University, and Victoria University. His teaching philosophy emphasises critical thinking, academic excellence, and the application of evidence-based approaches to enhance learning outcomes.

Dr Roychowdhury’s research has been published in leading journals and by major academic publishers including Nature Portfolio, Taylor & Francis, Routledge, Elsevier, Sage, Frontiers, and MDPI. He has served as Co-Editor of the Asian Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology and as a reviewer for numerous high-impact journals such as Scientific Reports; PLoS ONE; Frontiers in Psychology; BMC Psychology; International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health; Psychology of Sport and Exercise; BMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation; and International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology.

His scholarly interests encompass performance psychology, mental health, motivation, mindfulness, physical activity, and sport and exercise psychology, with broader engagements in higher education, critical pedagogy, and translational research. Alongside research, he provides consultancy to individuals, teams, and organisations to optimise performance and wellbeing.

He has also held senior leadership roles, including service as a commissioned Military Officer. He continues to be actively involved in consulting and community service. Outside of professional commitments, he enjoys painting and reading.
